APS has partnered with a well-established Central Valley CPA firm is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant – Audit to join its close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys audit work and is ready to take on greater responsibility, client interaction, and long-term ownership of audit engagements.
Pay: $28.00–$35.00/hr DOE
Benefits: Medical, Dental Vision, 401K, PTO
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | Additional hours during peak periods

Requirements:

• Previous audit experience required
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments
• Strong communication and client-service skills
• CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Perform financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance engagements
• Assist with or independently manage audit engagements from planning through completion
• Prepare workpapers, financial statements, supporting schedules, and related documentation
• Review financial records, account balances, internal controls, and supporting documentation
• Identify audit issues and communicate findings and recommendations
• Work directly with clients to gather information and keep engagements on schedule
• Manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines
• Assist with tax preparation and other accounting projects as needed
