Comp: $80-$100k
Our firm is exclusively partnered with the Bankruptcy Trustee serving California in the search for a Staff Attorney. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney seeking meaningful courtroom exposure, mentorship, career stability, and the chance to develop expertise in a highly specialized area of federal law.
Unlike many traditional law firm environments, this role offers regular appearances in bankruptcy court, direct interaction with judges and attorneys, substantial legal responsibility, and the opportunity to build a rewarding long-term career without the pressures of billable hour requirements or client development expectations. Candidates will gain hands-on experience in motion practice, legal research, hearings, and bankruptcy case administration while working within a collaborative and mission-driven organization dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the bankruptcy system.

Key Responsibilities
- Represent the Chapter 13 Trustee at meetings of creditors and court hearings.
- Conduct legal research and analyze bankruptcy-related matters.
- Draft motions, objections, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Review Chapter 13 plans and assist with case administration.
- Collaborate with internal staff and communicate with attorneys, creditors, debtors, and the court.
- Support the efficient administration of a large and active bankruptcy caseload.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active California Bar license
- Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented, professional, and eager to learn.
- Bankruptcy, litigation, or federal court experience is a plus, but not required
