Job Description
APS has partnered with a well-established Central Valley CPA firm is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant – Audit to join its close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys audit work and is ready to take on greater responsibility, client interaction, and long-term ownership of audit engagements.
Pay: $28.00–$35.00/hr DOE
Benefits: Medical, Dental Vision, 401K, PTO
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | Additional hours during peak periods
Requirements:
- Previous audit experience required
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments
- Strong communication and client-service skills
- CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure is a plus
- Perform financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance engagements
- Assist with or independently manage audit engagements from planning through completion
- Prepare workpapers, financial statements, supporting schedules, and related documentation
- Review financial records, account balances, internal controls, and supporting documentation
- Identify audit issues and communicate findings and recommendations
- Work directly with clients to gather information and keep engagements on schedule
- Manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines
- Assist with tax preparation and other accounting projects as needed
