Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Manager is a vital contributor to ensuring the effectiveness and success of the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Programs. Nurture the professional development of the QA and Laboratory staff, serving as the company's foremost expert on Food Safety and Quality Plans, and guaranteeing compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and guide the professional growth of the Quality Assurance Supervisor and Laboratory staff.
- Act as the company's representative on Food Safety and Quality Plans, particularly focusing on SQF compliance.
- Oversee the organization's Food Safety and Management Systems, ensuring adherence to SQF level three, HACCP, USDA, and international regulatory standards.
- Lead the Customer Complaint Process and collaborate with Production Management on issue resolution.
- Manage sanitation and housekeeping plans, including verification, validation, and auditing.
- Coordinate foreign material and food safety events, product recalls, traceability, and mock recalls.
- Promote organizational competence for consistent production of high-quality dairy ingredients.
- Stay updated on FDA, USDA, and international food regulatory knowledge.
- Ensure plant facilities meet GMP/Housekeeping/Food Safety Plan/Food Quality Plan standards.
- Develop, enforce, and enhance site hygiene zoning programs.
- Oversee environmental surveillance programs and ensure effectiveness through proactive auditing and modification.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and third-party agency food safety and public health requirements, overseeing audits and compliance.
- Implement and execute the Company's Pest Control Program effectively.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in the dairy industry, with progressive responsibilities.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and standard operating procedures.
- Certifications and expertise in HACCP, SQF, ISO, and GFSI standards.
