Summary: The Payroll Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing for our multi-state workforce. This role requires adept leadership skills and comprehensive knowledge of payroll regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll operations for over 2000 employees, including union and non-union staff.
- Lead and mentor a payroll team to ensure efficient processing according to schedules and policies.
- Review and complete Federal & State Tax returns, adhering to regulatory deadlines.
- Oversee payroll processes in the Time Entry System
- Resolve payroll-related issues and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and company policies.
- Conduct data analysis using Excel for reporting.
- Collaborate with internal management staff, to address operational and policy issues effectively.
- Participate in audits and contribute to process improvements.
- Provide training on payroll policies and systems usage.
Requirements:
- Minimum three years of payroll operations and payroll systems experience.
- Thorough understanding of federal and state payroll regulations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Availability to work 7 days/week during peak season (Mid-July to early October) and flexible scheduling during other periods.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
