Nursery General Manager
Location: Stanislaus County
Shift: Mon-Fri, 7:30-4:30
Salary: $80-100k About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Nursery General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery, ensuring efficient production and high-quality plant cultivation. This role is responsible for managing a team of 20 employees, coordinating workflow, and ensuring all production targets are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursery operations, team leadership, and be bilingual in Spanish and English.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of 20 employees in nursery production operations.
  • Oversee planting, propagation, irrigation, pruning, pest control, and overall plant health management.
  • Ensure employees follow best practices, safety protocols, and company standards.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing for supplies and materials.
  • Train and mentor staff to improve efficiency and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Work closely with ownership and management to implement business strategies.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any personnel issues.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and agricultural regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
  • Experience in nursery or horticulture operations required.
  • Proven experience managing a production team of 15+ employees.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of plant care, pest management, irrigation systems, and greenhouse operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment and handle physical tasks as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in agricultural management, horticulture, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with labor laws, safety regulations, and compliance requirements in the nursery industry.
