Medical Front Office
Job Description
Location: Modesto, CA
Pay Range: $19-$20/hr
Great opportunity to gain experience for a long term 6+ month contracted Front Office Receptionist in a medical practice in Modesto! You will play a key role in creating a positive experience by managing front desk, scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and coordinating with clinical staff. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a caring approach toward patient care.
Job Duties
- Welcome all patients and visitors warmly upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional experience.
- Register patients by verifying and updating personal and insurance information, collecting necessary forms, and entering data into the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Manage patient appointments, including booking, rescheduling, and cancellations, while optimizing the provider’s schedule.
- Communicate with patients about their appointments through text messaging, email, in-person and phone calls. Send reminders, confirm appointments, and follow up as necessary to ensure a smooth experience.
- Answer incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate department or staff, handle patient inquiries, and follow up as needed.
- Assist with basic insurance verification and confirm benefits eligibility as needed.
- Collect copayments and other fees, provide receipts, and ensure accurate documentation in patient accounts.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to relay information regarding patient flow, special requests, or urgent needs.
- Ensure the front office area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies, forms, and brochures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a medical office preferred
- Proficiency in using computer systems, with ability to learn EMR program, and other office equipment (phone, fax, copier).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and medical professionals.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and maintain calm.
- A caring and positive demeanor, with a commitment to providing a high standard of patient care.
