Medical Administrative Assistant
Part-Time (with potential to transition to Full-Time)
Office Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm
Modesto, CA
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Administrative Assistant to join our busy medical office. This part-time role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will manage administrative and clinical support duties, providing a welcoming experience for patients while maintaining efficient workflows for the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and manage heavy incoming phone calls, providing information and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Handle insurance prior authorizations and referrals efficiently and accurately.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of providers’ schedules.
- Greet and perform patient check-ins, verify insurance information, and update patient records.
Clinical Support:
- Prepare exam rooms and assist in rooming patients promptly.
- Ensure adequate inventory of supplies and equipment for future appointments, coordinating orders when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records following HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist with other office tasks as needed to support the team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in healthcare or related field preferred).
- Medical office experience with handling insurance prior authorizations and scheduling.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
