Superintendent / Field Project Manager - Construction
Torrance, CA - LA Basin area
Comp: $85k-$110k + perks
Overview:
Looking for a leader to oversee construction projects spanning from Bakersfield through Stanislaus County. This role is responsible for leading on-site operations, ensuring quality work, and keeping projects on schedule and within scope. You'll be the key field contact for our team, subcontractors, and clients. We offer a competitive compensation package including a company vehicle and an expense account.
Construction experience is required. Strong computer skills and a military background are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily construction activities across multiple sites, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Act as the primary on-site liaison between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Manage site schedules, coordinate material deliveries, and oversee equipment installations.
- Review drawings and identify any constructability issues or discrepancies.
- Attend and lead project meetings; communicate updates, milestones, and potential issues.
- Enforce safety standards and provide leadership to both field staff and subcontractors.
- Maintain organized project records, including permits, change orders, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of field construction experience, with proven project leadership.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, etc.) and general tech-savviness.
- Strong communication skills—verbal and written. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple sites and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with subcontractors and multi-disciplinary field teams.
- Military experience is appreciated but not required.
