Family Services & Group Coordinator
Location: Turlock, CA (with some travel to surrounding cities)
Pay: $28–$32/hour
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Family Services and Group Support Coordinator to join our team. This role provides direct case management and support services to families, leads grief support groups in both school and evening settings, and coordinates family data and records. The position also involves supporting volunteers, community outreach, and special events. Key Responsibilities
Family Services
- Provide direct case management and support for families, offering resources, referrals, and follow-up care.
- Conduct family intakes, orientations, and group placements tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records of family data (demographics, contact, intake surveys, safety concerns, group attendance, etc.).
- Regularly follow up with families to ensure ongoing support and resource connection.
Group Support
- Lead and facilitate grief support groups for children, teens, adults, and caregivers, including school-based groups and evening client groups (2 per week).
- Ensure safe, trauma-informed group environments, including mandated reporting when required.
- Act as lead staff during group nights and provide offsite support for critical incidents.
- Support volunteer and staff facilitators through coaching and coordination.
Volunteer & Outreach Support
- Assist with volunteer training, orientations, and support.
- Represent the program through tours, public speaking, and community events.
- Collaborate with schools, referral partners, and community organizations to extend outreach and resources.
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, public health, or related field preferred (candidates currently pursuing a master’s will be considered).
- Bilingual in Spanish required.
- 1–2 years of experience in a mental health, school, or nonprofit setting.
- Strong organizational and data management skills; familiarity with CRM/client databases preferred.
- Excellent public speaking, group facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work sensitively with families in grief, adapting to varying emotional states and needs.
- Experience in grief support or crisis intervention strongly preferred.
- Warm, empathetic presence with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Strong adaptability to meet diverse family needs.
- Comfort handling sensitive or urgent situations, including safety concerns.
- Outgoing, collaborative approach with the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Flexibility to work a mix of morning and evening shifts, with occasional weekends for training or events.
- Based in Turlock, CA with some travel to nearby communities.
- Mix of office-based family services, school-based groups, evening group facilitation, and community engagement.
- Client-facing role with opportunities for both clinical support and program leadership.
- Paid Holidays: Over 10 observed annually, including Thanksgiving (2 days) and Christmas.
