Temp to Hire
Shift: 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm
Stockton, CA

As a Dispatcher, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the daily dispatch of company Drivers.
  • Managing driver requests for time off and scheduling accordingly.
  • Utilizing GPS systems to track and guide drivers to their designated destinations.
  • Inform drivers of any specific customer or job site requirements.
  • Monitoring and communicating road closures and delays to drivers promptly.
  • Ensuring optimal efficiency by assigning drivers to appropriate trucks and loads.
  • Utilize proper communication tactics to cultivate strong relationships and maintaining open lines of communication with drivers.
  • Providing timely updates to dispatch supervisor regarding any changes affecting company deliverables.
  • Distributing daily dispatch schedules to drivers in a prompt manner.
  • Analyzing daily dispatch reports to identify driver availability and workload distribution, factoring in overtime and specialized tasks.
  • Proactively assessing driver strengths and weaknesses, providing feedback to Truck Boss and Dispatch Manager.
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with Project Managers, Job Site Foremen, and subcontractors, obtaining and maintaining essential contact information.
  • Efficiently managing early subcontractor bookings to meet operational requirements.
  • Accurately inputting data into Excel sheets, including tag information.
  • Maintaining an updated roster of drivers.
  • Keeping customers informed of any changes related to deliveries.
  • Documenting all pertinent issues in the billing process for the billing team's reference and accurate billing.
  • Ensuring that job files and records reflect any updates or modifications.
  • Collaborating with the shop to address and resolve truck-related issues promptly.
  • Updating systems promptly when trucks are out of commission.
  • Actively engaging with Haul-It resources to enhance knowledge and proficiency both during and outside of regular hours.

Qualifications:
  • Practical industry experience, or Bachelor’s degree in a related industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Exceptional communication abilities and grammar and spelling skills.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly familiarize with company product line and materials, truck fleet capabilities and load capacities.
  • Strong administrative and organizational prowess.
  • Proficient in time management and adept at prioritization.
