Chief Mechanic
Location: Escalon, CA
Pay Range: $90,000 – $110,000 per year
Overview
Seeking a hands-on Chief Mechanic to lead maintenance operations and ensure all equipment runs safely and efficiently. This role is responsible for repairs, preventative maintenance, and supervising a small team while supporting daily production needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair production equipment (motors, conveyors, forklifts, packaging machines)
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and basic PLC issues
- Execute and manage preventative maintenance programs
- Minimize downtime and support production goals
- Supervise and develop maintenance staff
- Maintain parts inventory and coordinate with vendors
- Support budgeting and equipment planning
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical/electrical; PLC a plus)
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Trade certification or equivalent experience preferred
