Medical Authorization and Referral Coordinator Job Duties:
- Process physician referrals for patients in an efficient and timely manner.
- Contact insurance companies to confirm patient eligibility for prescribed procedures.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments while accurately recording information into the EMR system.
- Maintain excellent data entry skills to ensure accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Display a professional and friendly telephone manner when communicating with insurance companies and patients.
- Uphold a strong attendance record by being punctual and dependable, contributing to the smooth operation of our practice.
- Foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment by effectively working with colleagues.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical authorization and referrals.
- Proficiency in working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Exceptional communication skills for interactions with insurance companies and patients.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to daily attendance.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to function effectively within a group setting.
