Pay Rate: $83K to $104K
Accounting Manager opportunity with a leading construction company dedicated to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. You’ll partner closely with the principals of the company and other external stakeholders to ensure financial reporting runs smoothly, stays compliant and delivers results. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the financial activities of the company, including general accounting, financial reporting, job costing, budgeting, and compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of construction accounting principles, WIP schedules, and project cost controls.
Requirements:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, job cost reports, and WIP schedules.
- Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting to ensure financial stability.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Oversee job costing, tracking project expenses, and working with project managers to maintain budget integrity.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions.
- Mentor and advise accounting staff, providing guidance and training development recommendations to enhance skills.
- Support strategic decision-making by providing financial insights to senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a manager, supervisor and/or leadership role.
- 3+ years’ experience in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including WIP schedules, job costing, and contract revenue recognition.
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge.
- Experience managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing accounting teams.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
