Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data and inventory reports, and provide insightful recommendations to improve financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
- Conduct regular financial analysis and reporting to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas of concern.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with owners to develop accurate and realistic budgets.
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to align actual results with budgeted goals.
- Support the development of financial forecasts, providing accurate and timely projections of revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
- Assist in calculating sales commissions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure commission plans align with company goals and objectives.
- Verify commission data, reconcile calculations, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Provide clear and transparent commission statements to sales representatives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, laws, and accounting standards.
- Oversee the preparation of sales tax reporting
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, recommending and implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and delegate tasks to ensure timely completion of financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable, commission calculations, and other accounting activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Accounting experience in retail environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Proficient in financial management software, Sage & POS experience a plus
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong leadership, Accounting oversight experience
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
