Job Description
Our growing local client in the services industry has partnered with AVAILABILITY Professional Staffing in search of a detail-oriented Health & Safety Coordinator.?Must be proactive, passionate about compliance and safety, and have exceptional interpersonal skills!
Pay Rate: $25-$30/hr
Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO - eligible when hired on
Location: Modesto, CA
Requirements of the Health & Safety Coordinator:?

Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., CSP, ASP, OHST) is a plus Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal.?

2+ years of experience in safety compliance, risk management, or related field, preferably in a corporate environment.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities of the Health & Safety Coordinator:?
- Work with the Director of Human Resources to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Work with regulatory agencies and external auditors during inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions taken, and review the data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Point of contact for workers compensation claims. Oversee the claim files through contact with Zurich adjusters, employees, clinics, and through Zurich website.
- Assist with the renewal process for selected insurance policies, providing necessary documentation and information to insurance brokers and carriers.
- Maintain certificate of insurance documentation.
- Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and industry trends and make recommendations for updates to policies and procedures as needed.
- Respond promptly to employee inquiries and concerns regarding safety issues, providing timely assistance and support as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team on other projects and initiatives as assigned.
